E.F.F.E.I
The European Federation
of Financial Executives Institutes (E.F.F.E.I.) was
founded in 1989 to address the needs of the European sphere, distinct
from the international brief held by I.A.F.E.I.
The federation is based in Brussels and is
primarily concerned with:
- Monitoring EU activities on behalf of financial executives through a regular newsletter and E-mail service.
- Providing links with EU officials as required for members of European Institutes.
- Co-ordinating initiatives on a European scale so that bodies such as the EU Commission can reach financial executives through a single channel.
Its Council meets four times a year and the national
members currently are:

I.A.F.E.I
I.A.F.E.I. is an international organisation of
national institutes of senior financial executives; its broad function
is the furtherance of financial executives' common business interests.
Founded in 1969, it has 20 member institutes with
a total membership of more that 25,000 financial executives.
Its aims are:
- To build and improve mutual understanding internationally
among financial executives through the exchange of financial information,
experience and ideas.
- To provide a basis for international co-operation
among financial executives towards making financial systems and
regulations more uniform, compatible and harmonious world-wide.
- To promote ethical considerations in the practice
of financial management throughout the world.
I.A.F.E.I. hosts world and area conferences, holds
international workshops, publishes technical studies, promotes the
exchange of speakers & publications and co-operates with other
relevant professional or institutional bodies such as the International
Accounting Standards Committee (I.A.S.C.), the EU and the Organisation
for Economic Co-Operation and Development.
I.A.F.E.I. now has a seat on the board of the
I.A.S.C. and contributes actively to its deliberations.
