Tom Barrett

Head of Hotels & Leisure – Savills plc

Tom recently joined Savills to establish its new Hotels & Leisure Division.  Previously Tom was Commercial Director of Choice Hotels Ireland (Clarion Hotels, Quality Hotels & Comfort Inns) where he profitably grew the business by over 50% per annum between 2003 and 2007, creating the largest Irish hotel operator with over twenty hotels. In 2007, Tom negotiated and completed the sale of 11 Quality Hotel & Comfort Inn leases and management contracts for €43m. Subsequently, he lead the acquisition of the UK Master Franchise for the 4 star Clarion brand and sourced a UK pipeline of new build and conversion properties. In 2008/09, Tom devised a survival plan for Choice Hotels Ireland and lead the business through a major refinancing and restructuring process.

Earlier, Tom worked with Forte Meridien Hotels, where as Finance Director he grew profitability from the 40 European hotels to over €125m per annum. During the 1997/98 Asian Financial Crisis he invested Meridien equity & debt in the region, which secured flagship hotels for the brand.

Tom has held many finance roles with Diageo and Vodafone and was start-up CEO for Fastnet Line Ferries (Cork Swansea). Internationally, he has worked out of London, Paris, New York and Hong Kong and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from University College Cork and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants.

Joe Kearns

Managing Director, QED Recruitment SpecialistsLimited

 

Joe Kearns is owner & Managing Director of QED Recruitment  Specialists Ltd.   Joe divides his time managing the temp services business which provides outsourced staff solutions to a wide range of national and international clients,  in Ireland and in the UK.

Joe is also heavily involved in executive search activities and advising clients on suitable senior management structures and reward packages. 

Joe set up Q.E.D and has over 25 years experience at PLC director level both nationally and internationally working in senior management positions in household brand names. Joe was Group Finance Director of NTR plc and Marlborough International plc.  Joe also worked for Grand Metropolitan plc, Bord Na Mona, Lawson Mardon (BAT) and Foir Teoranta.  Joe graduated from UCD with a masters degree in agricultural science and qualified as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen.  Joe is also a member of the UK Association of Corporate Treasurers. 

 

 

Anthony Kenny

Head of Commercial Business Development, Dublin Airport Authority

 

 Anthony is Head of Commercial Business Development with Dublin Airport Authority. Previous roles include Head of Commercial & Retail Finance with DAA, Finance Director with Hagemeyer Ireland and Financial Controller with Irish Continental Group, plc.  

Anthony qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte, holds an MAcc (Accounting) from University College Dublin and an  BBS (Business) from Trinity College, Dublin.

 

 

Eddie McNestry

Finance Director, CB Richard Ellis

 

Eddie is Finance Director of CB Richard Ellis, one of Ireland's leading property consultancy companies.  He has worked for CBRE and its predecessor company for the last 11 years. During this time he was also a director of Gunne Residential and Myhome Limited, Ireland's leading property website.

Prior to joining CBRE he worked in an Post, Jones Group plc, Bell Lines and in KPMG Dublin, Paris and Holland.  Eddie has served on various committees of the Chartered Accountants Ireland including the Premises and Accountants in Business Committees. He is currently a member of the Finance Committee. ...

 

 

Peter Madden, FCMA

Group Chief Financial Officer - Sammon Group Limited
 

Peter is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, President of the Financial Executives Association and is responsible for the Global Financial strategy and operations for the Group.

Peter spent 15 years with Aryzta (formerly IAWS Group), an international food group as Finance Director for a number of key subsidiaries and also served as Corporate Director - Acquisitions in the USA and was responsible for the establishment of the IAWS operations in the United States.

In 2004 Peter was appointed Chief Financial Officer for Arnott’s Holdings, a property and retail group based in Ireland.


 

Declan Tyrrell

Managing Director, Lucid Solutions

 

Declan is Managing Director or Lucid Solutions for Ireland & UK.  Declan has over 20 years experience in the Legal and Insurance sectors.  He has held senior positions in Finance & I.T. as well as Compliance Officer and Head of Business Intelligence.

Declan has extensive experience in business intelligence and performance management reporting, strategic planning and implementation, cash flow management, systems evaluation & implementation, due diligence for acquisition of companies, books of business plus sale of business, business planning, identifying key business performance factors and monitoring same.

Declan sits on the Council of the Finance Executives Association of Ireland.  He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
